Officers from the Greenwich Police Department conducted a traffic stop at approximately 11 p.m. on Wednesday night on West Putnam Avenue.

While they were interviewing the driver, one of the officers recognized a man walking eastbound on the sidewalk, who was wanted for grand larceny dating back to an investigation on Aug. 27.

Brown was taken into custody when the officers confirmed there was an active warrant out for his arrest.

While searching Brown before bringing him to Greenwich Police Headquarters, officers found a bag in Brown’s front pants pocket, which he acknowledged was “weed” police said.

Following his arrest, Brown was cited for possession of marijuana and booked for larceny and interfering or resisting an officer.

Brown is currently being held in lieu of $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 24 to answer the charges.
